Reviews
Daniel Arasse, art historian and expert of the Italian Renaissance, is a fantastic explorer. He will lead you beyond the paintings unveiling for you the real structure, history, and symbology of famous works. Every analysis develops as a enigma to solve, and the reader feels like a detective, or like a mathematician solving a beautiful equation. At the end of each analysis you will feel richer, with more refined tools to understand art. I collect art books, and Arasse is by far the best story teller I have encountered so far. I have his books in French but I got this book for a friend and the translation is solid and pleasant. Must have.
